 John Kristovich
Chair
John Kristovich entered the San Francisco Police Department in 1950. From 1951 to 1953 he served in the U.S Navy during the Korean war. He spent the next thirty years serving the people of San Francisco as a Patrol Officer and Sergeant in the Patrol and Traffic Divisions. While working in patrol he met Carolyn, the daughter of his partner, Joe Bellantoni, and shortly thereafter married her. They have been happily married for over 54 years. John and Carolyn have two daughters, a son and six grand-children and reside in San Bruno. In 1979, only a few days before he was scheduled to retire, John was working as a bank teller for the Bank of America when an armed robber attempted to hold up the bank. John pursued the felon in a gun-fight. John injured his knee during the capture. That’s quite a dramatic finish to a dedicated career.
John and Carolyn have two daughters, Lori and Karen, a son, John, and six grand-children. In addition to his five years of work with the Bank of America, John pursued a second successful career in real estate. He is still active in the field after 27 years and is a licensed Real Estate Broker.
John joined the SF Police Credit Union in 1953, shortly after returning from his military service. He began volunteering with SFPCU approximately fifteen years ago. He was appointed to the Board of Directors five years ago and subsequently was re-elected to the Board and hopes to help the SFPCU continue to be a sound and stable financial institution.

Frank Hedley has been elected to the Supervisory Committee of our Credit Union. Since he didn’t come from the San Francisco Police Department he may not be known to you. Instead, he came through the ranks to become Chief of Police of San Bruno and then became City Manager. After 40 years of public service, he retired. During his police career he also served with the San Bruno Employees’ Credit Union in a variety of volunteer positions, including the supervisory and audit committees. He was President of the Board of Directors when the San Bruno Credit Union was merged into the San Mateo County Credit Union.
