Help SF Police Credit Union
SFPCU is a member-owned, not-for-profit, cooperative institution. This means that under current tax law credit unions are exempt from corporate taxes like a for-profit bank with shareholders does.
At this time, Congress is considering reforming the tax code. If Congress passes these initiatives, it may result in Credit Unions being taxed which will translate to less affordable financial services for our members.
HOW DOES THIS AFFECT SFPCU MEMBERS?
Any tax on credit unions is really a tax on you since credit unions are cooperatively owned by the people they serve. If credit unions were taxed, it would limit our ability to provide better returns on savings as well as lower rates and fees for products and services.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Please tell congress “Don’t Tax My Credit Union” and make your voice heard. Convince congress that a new tax on credit unions is actually a tax on you and on millions of other hard working families. You can help preserve the credit union's tax exempt status by spreading the word to friends and family and by participating in the following:
Email / Letter: Send an email and/or letter to your United States Senators and Representatives.
